Sunday, August 15th, four club members went up to the Centennial Cone repeater site to have a look at the Phelps-Dodge colinear antenna. This is the primary antenna for the 145.280 repeater, but we’ve been using an alternate, due to excessive noise. Robert – NØCFM went out on the spar and checked connections, just to be sure there were no problems with those, and sprayed some Kroil on the clamps holding the antenna on the tower. We layed the groundwork for a return trip when we’ll lower the Phelps-Dodge antenna and determine whether it can be repaired.

Coming up on August 26th, Intermountain Repeater Group will be providing communications for the Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life. This is an annual bicycle race / fundraising event, held on the roads of Highlands Ranch. We are looking for volunteers to work at the aid stations along the routes, and at the start/finish line. All you need is an amateur license and a mobile/portable 2M radio. This is a morning event, starting at 7:30AM and lasting about 5-6 hours. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact KEØSJ – Bob.

On Sunday, June 18th, Intermountain Repeater Group will be providing communications support for the Mt. Evans Ascent foot race, benefiting Alpine Rescue. This year, the race starts at 6:30 AM. If you’d like to volunteer to help out, please contact our club President, Bob – KEØSJ. This is a fun and rewarding activity, and IRG has been providing this service for many years.
