Bill Hamilton — KU0E, SK

From Bob Kreutzer – KE0SJ:

It’s with a saddened heart that I announce the passing of Bill Hamilton, KU0E, on Sunday 3/8/2026. Bill had been in hospice prior to his passing. Bill lost his wife, Shari, KD0LLR, in November 2022.

Bill was an original member in the forming of the Intermountain Repeater Group in 1990. He was a member of the ARRL Amateur Radio Licensing Test Committee and a collector of amateur equipment.

He loved coming to the Lunch Bunch Gathering. His favorite thing to do was checking in on Sunday Night Net and “talking down the repeater”! All in jest, of course. He was well known on all local repeaters. I’m sure everyone would have a good story or two to tell about Bill. I have mine.

I first met Bill about 1979 while a member of the Castle Rock Repeater Group. Later, he was one of the ‘testers’ that graded my wife, Carmen, N0OCL to get her ham license. Not long ago Bill wanted IRG to install a repeater on newly acquired land on Lookout Mountain, but his health was diminishing and we couldn’t. I have lots of fond memories of Bill and Shari!

A celebration of life service will be held at 4 pm on July 7th, 2026 at Horan and McConaty funeral home 9998 Grant Street Thornton Colorado with a reception to follow.
