Here are some photos from the 2017 Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life event, taken at the Hess Rd. aid station.
Sunday, August 15th, four club members went up to the Centennial Cone repeater site to have a look at the Phelps-Dodge colinear antenna. This is the primary antenna for the 145.280 repeater, but we’ve been using an alternate, due to excessive noise. Robert – NØCFM went out on the spar and checked connections, just to be sure there were no problems with those, and sprayed some Kroil on the clamps holding the antenna on the tower. We layed the groundwork for a return trip when we’ll lower the Phelps-Dodge antenna and determine whether it can be repaired.
Coming up on Sunday, the 20th of August, please look for the IRG club table at the Denver Radio Club Hamfest.
