On Sunday, June 18th, Intermountain Repeater Group will be providing communications support for the Mt. Evans Ascent foot race, benefiting Alpine Rescue. This year, the race starts at 6:30 AM. If you’d like to volunteer to help out, please contact our club President, Bob – KEØSJ. This is a fun and rewarding activity, and IRG has been providing this service for many years. Colorado 14er Event, August 6-7
Amateur Radio Fun in the Colorado Mountains:
Amateur Radio operators from around Colorado will be climbing many of Colorado’s 14,000-foot mountains and Summits On The Air (SOTA) peaks to set up amateur radio stations in an effort to communicate with other radio amateurs across the state and around the world. Join in on the fun during the 25th annual event and see how many of the mountaintop stations you can contact.
Three Metor Showers Coming Up
Do you want to work meteor scatter? The next few weeks could be a good time to try it out. From the Denver Post:

Perseid, Delta Aquarids, Alpha Capricornids meteor showers will light up the night sky, with Perseids double its normal rate
Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life Coming Up
Coming up on August 27th, IRG will be providing communications support for the Colorado CF Cycle for Life. We are looking for volunteers to work at the aid stations along the routes, and at the start/finish line. All you need is an amateur license and a mobile/portable 2M radio. This is a morning event, starting at 7AM and lasting about 5-6 hours. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact KEØSJ – Bob.
